Fixed Mindset vs Growth Mindset Difference

Fixed Mindset vs Growth Mindset Difference

Fixed Mindset vs Growth Mindset: You must have heard a very common phrase/expression or can say a very common proverbial phrase, such as IS THE GLASS HALF EMPTY OR HALF FULL? For this, person having a growth mindset or person who is optimistic will say its half full, whereas a person with a fixed mindset and having pessimist attitude will say its half empty, this simple phrase can show your mindset and personality very well.

A person with Fixed mindset has mind limitation, they believe they cannot achieve something because they are not born talented or they don’t have skills or they are not lucky enough, whereas person with growth mindset knows that we people create limits, and if we want we can achieve anything, through hard work, persistence and efforts, they understand that the only limits that exist are the ones in our mind, Growth mindset people know No one is born with skills and talent, everything is achieved through hard work,  People with growth mindset knows that they can learn and grow. This thinking is the biggest difference between successful and unsuccessful people.

AS IT SAYS “ALL LIMITS ARE SELF IMPOSED”

Today I will share the difference between Fixed Mindset vs Growth Mindset people and how you can develop a growth mindset.

Fixed Mindset vs Growth Mindset 1. Encourage hard work

People Having Fixed mindset believes that people are born with talent skills and intelligence, but the actual fact is, no one is born with skills or talent but people learn and improve through their hard work and persistence, there is also a misconception fixed mindset people have that successful people are rich because they are lucky enough but the actual fact is, they are successful because of their burning desire and passion towards becoming successful.

Hence you must encourage hard work in order to develop a growth mindset.

As it says” hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.”

Fixed Mindset vs Growth Mindset 2. Accept challenges

People having Fixed mindset are afraid of taking challenges, they easily give up and they fear that if they take challenge and if they fail, people will make fun of them and their lack of skill will become very evident hence they decide to avoid taking challenges, They want to achieve something great in their life but fear to take up challenges.

But Growth mindset people have clear idea about their passion, hence they take up challenges or take risk in order to move closer to their goals, because they know, challenges will help to grow and it’s a kind of opportunity, and they know challenges make you more persistent, you keep o doing it until and unless you don’t win it or achieve it. They embrace those challenges.

Growth mindset people also know that taking challenges or risk just for fun will not move them ahead, hence risk and challenges must be taken with proper understanding and wisdom.

Hence you should accept challenges in order to move towards your goal, and this will help you to develop a growth mindset.

As it says “STOP BEING AFRAID OF WHAT COULD GO WRONG AND START BEING EXCITED ABOUT WHAT COULD GO RIGHT.”

Fixed Mindset vs Growth Mindset 3. Put more efforts

People with fixed mindset easily give up without putting more efforts for the thing they always wish for, but people having growth mindset keep on putting efforts until and unless they don’t get what they always dreamed about. Because they understand the difference between wish and decision, it’s their decision which forces them to keep on putting efforts until they don’t get what they really wanted.

Fixed mindset people think that efforts are unnecessary and will not get any extra result from it, whereas growth mindset people think that efforts are essential in order to get the best outcome.

Fixed mindset people think you put more efforts only when you think that you are not good enough in something, whereas growth mindset people believe that efforts are essential for path or mastery, no matter how good you are in something extra efforts will give you extra results.

For example, an intelligent or clever student isn’t born with intelligence but it is their efforts hard work and focus which makes them intelligent and a topper of the class.

As it says” UNLIMITED EFFORTS CAN PRODUCE UNLIMITED RESULTS.”

Fixed Mindset vs Growth Mindset 4. Accept Feedbacks with smile

Example, suppose you are speaking in English or any other language, and someone or your friend corrects you, How you will react?

A person with fixed mindset will for sure get defensive, offended or at least for sure feel bad but a person with growth mindset take that feedback or correction positively with a smile and find it very useful,  because they know feedbacks help a person to learn and improve but fixed mindset people will take it personally.

Even big companies take feedback about their brand, because they know how feedbacks can help them to improve and how that improvement will make them more successful, hence never take feedbacks as criticism or an insult but take it as a medium of learning or improving.

And a very important thing, if you are giving someone feedback, any company or any friend or anyone, Don’t give it in a fun way, but always remember and always make sure that your feedback is KIND, HELPFUL AND SPECIFIC.

As it says “FEEDBACK IS THE BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS.”

Fixed Mindset vs Growth Mindset 5. Don’t be disappointed with setbacks

Everyone in this world faces problems, failures, and setbacks, but the difference between growth mindset people and fixed mindset people is,

Growth mindset people;  take it as a wakeup call and decides that from now on they will work harder and will not repeat the same mistake again, they take that failure or setback as an experience and move on and decides not to repeat the same mistake again and learn from their mistake. They always take responsibility for their doings and for their decision they know what they do, they never blame others.

Whereas people with fixed mindset always blame others for their problems and failure, they love to play a blame game, they run from their responsibilities. And instead of learning from those setbacks they easily get discouraged and easily gives up, which never allow them to move out of their comfort zone.

AS IS SAYS “YOUR SETBACK IS THE PLATFORM FOR YOUR COMEBACK.”
