Chapter 1: The Four Aspects of Love
In this chapter author says that there are four elements of true love as per Buddhism, first is maître which is also known as loving-kindness and benevolence, here author says that loving-kindness is not only about the desire to make someone happy or to bring joy in the life of your beloved person, loving-kindness is the ability to bring joy and happiness to the person you love. Sometimes we love someone truly but our love can make other people suffer, hence author says we need proper training in order to love properly, the author says in order to give happiness and joy we must practice deep looking directed towards the person you love.
Author says if you can’t understand someone then you can’t love that someone, if you can’t understand you can’t love for example Author says that if a man doesn’t understand his wife deepest sorrows, deepest troubles and her deepest aspiration then he will never able to love her in the right way, similar thing goes with women, if a women can’t understand her man’s deepest sorrows and problem, then she can’t love him in the right way, hence to love someone truly with pure heart always understand that person deeply.

In this chapter author says that TO LOVE, In The Context of Buddhism, is all above to be there, Author says but being there is not an easy thing, some training and practices are necessary, if you can’t being there then how can you love? Author says that being there is very much an art, an art of meditation, author says meditation bring your true presence to the here and now.
Author says the question which arises here is DO YOU HAVE TIME TO LOVE?
Sometimes we love someone truly but still relationship love fails because we fail to be there, we fail to be live in the present moment with our loved ones, we fail to stay in the moment with our loved ones, example there was a twelve-year-old boy whose father asked him one day, what present he would like to have on his birthday, listening to this that boy said I want your time I want your presence, that will be the best gift for me, sometimes your time, your presence can give a lot of happiness to your loved ones, hence always be in the moment, always be with them, always give your presence.
