In this chapter, the author says that Every day and every hour one should practice mindfulness, Now the author says that many people may think that it is easy to say to practice mindfulness, but it is hard to practice, hence to clear this question, the author says to each person that every individual should reserve one day out of the week to devote entirely to their practice of mindfulness, author says that every day should be your day, every hour should be your hour, but hardly anyone reach to such an impression, because the author says that today every individual live a busy life and has an impression that our family, place of work, and society rob us of all our time.

The Miracle of Mindfulness Summary Chapter 4: The Pebble

Here the author answer the reason why should we meditate? the author says that there is a need to realize the importance of total rest, the author says that even the night of sleep doesn’t give the total rest.

The author says- Twisting and turning, the facial muscles tense, all the while dreaming hardly rest! Nor is lying down rest when you still feel restless and twist and turn. Lying on your back, with your arms and legs straight but not stiff, your head unsupported by a pillow-this is a good position to practice breathing and to relax all the muscles; but this way it is also easier to fall asleep. You cannot go as far in meditation lying down as by sitting. It is

possible to find total rest in a sitting position, and in turn to advance deeper in meditation in order to resolve the worries and troubles that upset and block your consciousness.

The Author says (In Author Words): Let me devote a few lines here to talk about the methods you might use in order to arrive at liberation from narrow views and to obtain fearlessness and great compassion. These are the contemplations of interdependence, impermanence, and compassion.

The Author says that when you sit in meditation after having taken hold of your mind, the author asks you to direct your concentration to contemplate the interdependent nature of the certain object.

The author says that meditation is not a discursive reflection on a philosophy of interdependence. It is a penetration of mind to the mind itself, using one’s concentrative power to reveal the real nature of the object being contemplated.

  2. Every thing is fine , book summery is also pleasurable .
    But just look at the summery ,it is being dominated by the sentence “author says that” .It would be awesome with less use of this phrase .
