Steal Like an Artist book is One of the best book written by Austin, Steal like an Artist, here don’t misunderstand the word steal, don’t take it in a literal terms, steal here doesn’t mean to do robbery or anything like that, here author simply want us to understand that you don’t to be a genius or a very intelligent person to become creative, what you need to become a creative is to be yourself that’s it.

Author says that creativity is for everyone and it is everywhere, and Austin has explained about creativity very well by giving many examples and illustrations and also shared 10 points which he wish that if somebody would have told him at the start of his career he might have found it very easy, but he shared those points in this book so that you find it easy to become creative and don’t lose your confidence and self-believe,

Here author says, that steal word doesn’t mean to steal or stealing, robbery anything like that, but it means to study, credit, remix, mash up and transform. Here author says that nothing is original, creative work build on what came before.

Here author also says, that usually artist collect others work, but selectively, not indiscriminately, doing a deep research about your favorite artist can make you realize that you can be part of a creative family.

The author also says, to go to a library, keep reading about your favorite artist, as there is magic in being surrounded by books, start searching for your favorite artist then further do research and always maintain a book or a journal In which you can prepare a notes, Which can help you in future. And also it can act as your remembering diary, means anything you forget you can look at those notes.

Always read a book, because mentors have made everything easy for you, through them you can learn and tackle the obstacles and don’t forget to maintain a diary or journal, it will help for sure, even I maintain a journal.

Here author says, that don’t wait for a right moment, Start today and make it happened, You must start doing the work you think that you want to do, don’t wait and over think just start, You need to involve yourself deeply to the work of an artist you are inspired with, here what you need to do is to see the world like your heroes yours inspiration see, you don’t have to look like them, you have to see like them, Copying art perfectly is impossible, no one can copy art perfectly, and that is how you will come up with your own individuality.

Author Kleon says that yes that’s true that internet and social media are terrific connectivity and collaboration tool,  but in order to be creative it is really very important to step out from the world of screen and actually involved in physical work, Computer use makes us think and feel that yes we are actually making something,

But for creativity, you must involve your entire body, not just your brain, because through using your body, your entire body senses start working and it makes your brain think more nicely and allows your brain to engage properly.

Here Kleon says that using computers in the ideation stage may actually turn you into edit mode, even before the idea has been fully explored.

Hence try to involve yourself in more physical work, so that your all senses work and you explore with ideas and your brain can engage more nicely and can give its best performance.

Here Author says that sometimes magic happens by doing a side project not by doing a main work, he also advises to take out time for side projects and get bored, do boring things like ironing or any work you which is a side work apart from your main work, so doing that side work your mind keeps wandering.

And hobbies are also very important because hobbies are something which makes you happy and it always gives never takes, involving your self to some hobbies will only make you happy and happy mind is a really magical way to work and gives your brain relax and peaceful time.

Here Kleon says, that sharing your work and about the things you like can give you a good feedback and can also generate ideas in your mind, Social media internet is the best way to do that, because different people can see your work or your idea and their feedback can generate new ideas in your brain, if you are afraid to share your entire work then you can only share glimpse of it.
